Why We Hang Midea Equipment
Midea is one of the largest air conditioning manufacturers in the world, and it builds ductless equipment sold under several familiar names. That scale matters in a practical way. Common components stay in stock, replacement heads and boards are not exotic orders, and a licensed contractor in Central Texas can service the system years from now without hunting a boutique parts distributor.
The systems run a variable speed inverter compressor, which means the outdoor unit modulates instead of slamming on and off. Through a July afternoon in Harker Heights that translates to steadier temperatures and better humidity control at part load. In January it runs in reverse and heats the same space, so a mini split covers both seasons without a furnace in the picture.
What a Midea Install Actually Involves
The indoor head mounts on an exterior wall, usually high, with a three inch core through the wall behind it. From there a line set carries refrigerant, control wiring and a condensate drain out to the condenser, which sits on a ground pad or a wall bracket depending on your grade and your flowerbeds. Multi zone Midea systems run a separate line set to each head from one outdoor unit, so a three zone install means three penetrations and one condenser, not three condensers.
Standard electrical is included. That means a dedicated circuit and disconnect for the condenser, wired by a licensed contractor to code. Vacuum, pressure test, refrigerant charge, startup, and remote or app pairing all happen before we leave, and so does the cleanup. If the touch-up paint does not match, we make the Home Depot run ourselves.
The Flat Price, and the Three Honest Exceptions
The posted price covers equipment, labor, line set, standard electrical, refrigerant, testing, cleanup and paint. There are no trip fees and no upcharges bolted on at the end. These prices are for new installations only. They are not repair pricing and they are not service call pricing, so if your existing unit has quit, this is not the number for that work.
Three things can move a price, and we say them before you commit rather than after. A very long line set run, a service panel that already needed an upgrade before we showed up, and unusually difficult mounting such as a high second story wall or a steep rock grade. Is this price good for repairing a Midea unit I already have?
No. These flat prices apply to new installations only. They are not repair pricing, diagnostic pricing or service call pricing, and we do not quote existing-system repairs at these numbers.
Will one Midea outdoor unit really heat my house in winter?
A mini split is a heat pump, so it heats and cools with the same equipment. Central Texas winters are mild and the system reverses to pull heat inside without a furnace. Sizing matters, so tell us the rooms and square footage at /#quote and we will tell you what the zones should be.
Are there rebates or tax credits for a Midea heat pump install?
